We had a great day out at Langkawi cable car. We got the standard gondola, eagle nest, sky glide & sky bridge package with fast track. You can see so much from the std gondola I don't think paying extra for a glass bottomed one is needed. We had our nearly 2 year old with us so were a bit dubious about a full day of him walking as I had read you couldn't take strollers in, but he did really well and the fast track helped, although the queues weren't too bad as we'd got there early morning. I can imagine that in peak season it get really busy but for us it was perfect, we left early afternoon after having some lunch and it was starting to get really busy. The Eagles Nest has great views and is worth the addition to your booking in my opinion. Overall we were really happy with this trip.

Ticketing experience was great. Havin express lane meant we did not wait more then 2-3 minutes to get in the cable car. Staff was professional and polite and quick in assisting with questions. Purchasing the tickets here was fast and without any issues. Recommend the experience. Great views up there and incredible work to keep everything at good quality.

Ticketing experience was good thank you and overall we think the day was good value for money. The driver was pleasant and drove carefully but his English was poor which meant we received very little insight/information about Langkawi.

Get Langkawi Cable Car tickets | The highest cable car in Malaysia

Langkawi Cable Car, also known as the SkyCab, is the highest in Malaysia and one of the steepest in the world, with an incline of 42°. In just 15 minutes, you’ll glide above rainforests and some of Southeast Asia’s oldest mountain peaks. As you rise, the views stretch out — Langkawi’s 99 islands below, and on a clear day, even the distant shores of Thailand.

The cable car will bring you from the Base to the Middle Station, where you can alight onto viewing platforms to enjoy the sights, before continuing your journey up to the Top Station. Don’t miss the SkyBridge, one of the world’s highest curved suspension bridges.

Stunning 360° views from the Cable Car

With a Cable Car ride, you get 360° views that many say are the best in Langkawi. From up here, you can spot beaches, paddy fields, harbors, and the mountain curves all at once. Sunset rides are extra special, with the sky turning golden over the islands.

Mountaintop experience at Langkawi SkyBridge

At the Top Station, visit the Langkawi SkyBridge, a curved walkway suspended 100 meters above the jungle. Parts of the glass floor let you look straight down into the forest. To get there, take a short 10-minute hike or hop on the SkyGlide, a quick glass lift that offers an easy, scenic ride.

Integrated attraction with multiple experiences

While the views steal the spotlight, the base station attractions—SkyDome, 3D Art, and SkyRex—are family favorites. SkyDome kicks things off with a 10-minute 360° projection that feels like a wild space ride. Next, 3D Art Langkawi offers fun, Instagrammable murals. Then comes the thrill: SkyRex drops you into a dino jungle with a shaking tram, wind, and water effects—an action-packed 5-minute ride loved by all ages.

Explore Oriental Village

At the base station, the Oriental Village is a perfect place to explore before or after your cable car ride. The village has numerous souvenir shops selling everything from batik prints to keychains. You can taste local Malaysian dishes at the food court or grab an ice cream while enjoying views of the surrounding mountains. Families appreciate the open space for kids to run a bit, and photographers will find nice spots with the red bridge and lily pond.

Explore UNESCO Global Geopark

Unlike many cable cars, which operate in urban or purely alpine settings,.  Langkawi Cable Car takes you above ancient limestone cliffs, rainforests, and even hidden waterfalls. Keep your eyes peeled—you might spot monkeys swinging through the trees or hornbills flying overhead! The Top Station area has walking trails and information signage about flora, fauna, and rock formations. It’s not uncommon to hear the calls of cicadas or spot a soaring eagle while up there.

Things to know before booking your Langkawi Cable Car tickets

Choosing the perfect Langkawi Cable Car ticket boils down to your priorities and budget. Here are some points to consider when finding the perfect experience for your style and budget:

  • Standard tickets are the most budget-friendly option, but you might be stuck in queues for up to 45 minutes or more, especially during peak hours. If you don't mind shelling out a little extra, go for the express lane tickets.
  • There are five different gondolas to choose from—Standard, Glass Bottom, 360° Open-Air, VIP, and Private Cable Car. The 360° and Glass Bottom gondolas offer a more thrilling experience. If you're looking to ride only with your group, go for the Private Gondola. VIP Cable Cars are ideal for special occasions like proposals, anniversaries, and more.
  • All premium cable car options have express-lane entry, reducing wait times. However, if you just want a ride up the mountain and want neither of the previous offerings, the standard gondola is the best for you.
  • While every ticket gets you on the cable car and entry to 3D Art Langkawi, SkyRex, and SkyDome, you can level up your adventure with exciting add-ons like the Skybridge, SkyGlide, or Eagle Nest SkyWalk.
  • If you're planning on visiting multiple attractions, combos save you money compared to individual tickets. Finding the perfect combos depends on your interests. You can choose SkyATV or the family-friendly 6D Cinemotion or Petting Zoo. Opt for a speedboat ride for scenic sunset cruises, island hopping, or mangrove tours. You can also enjoy wildlife adventures at Underwater World, Crocodile Adventure Land, Wildlife Park, and more.
